Within the Bel Ombre estate, adjoining the Black River Gorges National Park and extending from sea level to 400 meters altitude, the'Frederica'  Reserve is home to abundant endemic plants, birds and animals unique to Mauritius and benefits from the expertise and guidance of the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. The visitors will observe many treasures in the nature reserve, spread over 3,500 acres.

You will be fascinated to discover the ruins of a traditional factory chimney from the early days of Mauritius' sugar estates and enchanted to see infinite plains as well as rich, fertile forests where a spectacular waterfall cascades in.

To explore this amazing area, you should choose among guided excursions (available twice daily, weather permitting), walks, mountain bike rides, double seat quad bikes or 4x4 Land Rover rides at a charge.
